What are the differences between Type 1, 6F2 and 6F5 crushed concrete?
Crushed concrete suppliers typically will offer a choice between all three, with Type 1 recommended for backfilling, oversite filling, granular sub-bases, trench filling and capping layers. It’s a recycled product that’s cost-effective, and suitable for sub-base construction on projects of all sizes. 6F2, on the other hand, is typically employed on Medway developments as bulk-fill, to build-up levels or firm up wet/soft ground. It can also be used as a temporary hardstanding.
Finally, SF5 is a mix of course and unbound recycled aggregates, typically used as general-fill for capping, or to level-off natural ground prior to further groundworks such as the construction of a Type 1 sub-base. Unsure which will best suit your needs? Contact our crushed concrete suppliers. We generate our own aggregates using concrete crushing machinery which is also available for rental via our plant hire service – so we’re an incredibly eco-friendly option!

What qualifications and accreditations do your team hold?
As a veteran demolition company serving the Medway area, we’re members of the SSIP and Federation of Small Businesses. Individual members of our team, tasked with the provision of groundworks, plant hire, and enlisted in their role as top soil suppliers and crushed concrete suppliers, are each registered with the CITB and CPCS. We also proudly hold a SMAS Worksafe Contractor Certificate. All this in place for clients’ peace of mind.
How do ensure groundworks and similar projects proceed smoothly?
At Kent Groundwork and Demolition Ltd, we’re obsessive about three words in particular: efficient project management. We take the time, prior to the commencement of any demolition, concrete crushing or groundworks project, as well as the provision of plant hire, to have an in-depth consultation with the client.
This ensures that every possible expectation can be met, and logistical challenges presented by environmental factors or time constraints can be overcome.
When might I require a delivery of quality top soil?
Typically, our top soil suppliers receive word from Medway residents and trades when they’re about to launch a garden renovation, handle general landscaping requirements, and plant vegetables! Whatever the quantity, our prices are competitive.
Why choose your demolition company over competitors in Medway?
You’ve learned about our impressive number of certificates and accreditations, heard about our rich history, teams’ experience and versatility; but one core reason our demolition company receives so much repeat custom in the Medway area can be underlined in one word: pedigree.
We’re trusted by new clients who recognise the names we’ve worked with in the past and continue to work with, whether as top soil suppliers and crushed concrete suppliers, or through providing groundworks, plant hire, concrete crushing and demolition services: BAE Systems, Carillion, Kier, Tesco and William Verry, to name just a few. Now that’s pedigree.
What would you say are your most popular plant hire services?
Customers and clients in Medway can hire out a wide range of plant and this service is perfect for those who don’t want to invest too heavily into their own machinery. Crusher hire, dumper hire, excavator hire and roller hire are all popular choices that not only help to reduce manual labour, but which will also make site preparation and site enabling much easier as processes.
